Anita Hughes
Scholarship Award Recipient 2026
Anita graduated from North Surry High School and has been accepted to Appalachian State University. She plans to major in Music Composition and Theory. Her career objective is composition and vocal performance in entertainment. Anita enjoys performing in North Surry High School's concert, marching, and jazz bands. She was the tenor section leader in 2025 for the NSHS Greyhound Sounds! Anne was elected president of the 2025 SAVE Promise Club STOMP Division. Anita also completed an internship with the Surry Arts Council and attended the 2025 Cannon Music Camp.

Ryley Burton
Scholarship Award Recipient 2025
Ryley graduated from Surry Central High School, and has been accepted to Appalachian State University. She plans to major in Vocal Music Education (K-12). Her career objective is to provide children with opportunities to collaborate and express themselves through music. Ryley has participated in various school and community activities, including volunteering at Shepherd's House, caroling, food drives, and student council events.
